DM is pictured with Lou Roth at a party at the Morales House.  Roth was a Jewish philanthropist, garment industrialist, and became a member of the board at MAOF.  His influence opened many doors for financial support.

MAOF did not have a headquarters, and was in its incipient development.  Roth was on the verge of retirement, he gave DM his office, his telephone, his secretary, his parking space, his roll of stamps, and his home for a fund raiser so that Steve Allen could come over for the first Fiesta Rancheras.
